Founder and CEO
Lisa Ashton MBE is the founder and CEO of The Winnie Mabaso Foundation. She worked in the broadcast industry for almost 25 years. Beginning in the Independent sector in London Lisa worked on TV shows such as BBC’s ‘Challenge Anneka’ and Channel 4’s Breakfast Show. She relocated to the North West in 1994 and joined the BBC making programmes for both TV and Radio. Since 2013 she has worked full time for the Foundation.
Lisa was awarded an MBE in 2013 in the Queen’s New Years Honours List for her services to the victims of HIV/AIDS, particularly children in South Africa. In 2015 Lisa was a finalist in the The Clarins Eau Dynamisante Woman of The Year Award.
